Exciting news has come again from the Chemistry Department, FMIPA University Lampung. Based on the announcement of the results of the Student Creativity Program Funding (PKM) 2026 Funding Scheme which was released on May 23 2026, as many as two Chemistry Department student's proposal succeeded in obtaining funding from the Ministry Higher Education, Science and Technology.

This success is part of the previous achievements of the Chemistry Department successfully passed ten proposals at university level. Out of ten of these proposals, two proposals managed to go further and get national funding.

The first proposal to receive funding was entitled “Waste-Based Hydroxyapatite Nanocomposite Innovation Fish Bones Hypostomus plecostomus Modified Silicon Dioxide by Wet Precipitation Method for Adsorption of Methylene Blue”. This proposal was chaired byWahyu Rohmi Hariyadi with supervisor Radho Al Kausar, M.Si. This research focuses on the use of fish bone waste as an ingredient basic hydroxyapatite nanocomposite modified with silicon dioxide for adsorption methylene blue dye in liquid waste.

The second proposal that was successful in obtaining funding was entitled “Development of 8% Eugenol–Divinyl Benzene Copolymer as a Carrier Compound in Polymer Inclusion Membranes for Malasite Separation Green”. This proposal was chaired by Adelia Shofiatul Karimah under guidance Dr. Agung Abadi Kiswandono, S.Si., M.Sc. The research develops materials based on eugenol-divinyl benzene copolymer which is applied to the membrane polymer inclusions for the process of separating green malachite dye.

Previously, as many as ten proposals from Chemistry Department students successfully passed university level selection, namely the proposal chaired by Revalina Putri Sanjaya, Wahyu Rohmi Hariyadi, Tiffani Lutfiyana Putri, Muhammad Wahyu Wibowo, Putri Zahara, Dian Wulandari, Awwala Bunga Serena, Nadila Andriani, Sabila Syakinah, and Adelia Shofiatul Karimah. Of the total proposals, two the proposal finally succeeded in obtaining funding at the national level.

The head of the funding recipient team, Wahyu Rohmi Hariyadi, said that The achievements obtained cannot be separated from the support of various parties, in particular Department of Chemistry. "Results obtained today cannot be separated from the active contribution of the Chemistry Department in facilitating PKM participants face various obstacles. Hopefully the teams that qualify can be representation from the Chemistry Department and continues to higher levels prestigious," said Wahyu.

In line with this, Adelia Shofiatul Karimah expressed her feelings gratitude and appreciation for the support provided during the preparation process proposal to funding stage. "Taste We express our thanks and gratitude to the Chemistry Department for their support, coaching, as well as facilities provided during the proposal preparation process to the funding stage. Hopefully the PKM implementation process can run smoothly, produce useful outcomes, as well as be a motivation for other students to continue to contribute through scientific work and research impact," said Adelia.

This success is proof of the commitment of the Chemistry Department, FMIPA University Lampung in encouraging a culture of research and innovation among students. It is hoped that these achievements can motivate other students to continue develop creative ideas and produce scientific work that provides real contribution to the development of science and the solution of various problems in society.
